Lynda Schultz:

CLASS OF 1972
Tucson, AZ

Lynda's Story

Well, we just attended my husband's 41st class reunion and I became nostalgic, so looked around on this website. Thus, the update. I've been married for almost 38 years. I've lived in Pennsylvania for most of that time. I have two children, both born in Tucson, but they have really grown up in Pa. We have one grandson who is 5 and in a week we will have a wonderful little girl to love to make two. The recession of the '80's drove us to the East Coast for work. It took 3 moves back and forth before I could finally give up Arizona. Now, I can't leave PA. I live in Lancaster County where the movie, "Witness" was filmed. But, we're not completely out in the middle of nowhere. My husband works in Philadelphia which is about an hour and a half away. Thinking we would retire in Tucson, we moved back in 2006. Neither child was married at that time and we hoped they would follow. They did not and I guess there is some truth to the saying that you can never go home again. I felt like a stranger and I missed grass. But, I will always call Arizona home, how could I ...Expand for more
not? My husband, Eric is a graphic artist. I was a stay at home mom until my children went into school full time. Boy, that was a lifetime ago! I then went back to college at West Chester Univ. here, but didn't get a degree. I was a florist for many years. However, though I loved the creative outlet, I wanted a job with holidays off. So, I went into banking and I've done that for 17 years. When I was 50, I went to school for medical massage and it was challenging, strange but interesting. I enjoyed it, just couldn't really make a living at it. Today, Eric and I are involved in our church, we walk/hike, Eric is a kayaker, I paint, we both garden. We look forward to retiring. We kept our house in Tucson, Eric says we have earned the right to be 'snowbirds' ^_^ We'll see. You'd think Eric was born in AZ and myself in PA. There's nothing like the woods in fall (except a starry night in July in the desert that once used to be the end of Alvernon and now is someone's back yard). I will always hold Tucson and those memories very close to my heart....
