Lynn's Story

I have been busy living life! I went to Normandale Community College and received my AA in '76, then went to University of Wisconsin-Stout and received my BA in Home Economics Education. I have taught junior high Home Ec ( before they changed to Family and Consumer Science), managed a fabric store, a clothing store and a waterbed store (those were the days!). Then took time to raise children. After that I went into Real Estate Sales for about 25 years. My first marriage lasted 5 years and ended in divorce when I realized he was an alcoholic. I met my current husband shortly after and we have now been married for 34 years. We have 3 grown sons, an awesome DIL from Ireland and one grand-daughter. We adopted an wonderful rescue dog last year, her name is Hope. I took early retirement at the end of 2018 due to health issues. I was diagnosed in 2008 with Stage 2 Breast Cancer and did the whole chemo/ radiation thing. That gave me 8 years of remission. The cancer returned in 2016 and is now Stage 4 which is considered terminal. The average life expectancy is 3-5 years, but if you remember me, I am a bit stubborn and intend to live longer. ...Expand for more
We have traveled to Switzerland, France, Italy, Mexico, Hawaii, the Caribbean and Alaska. We just went to Cuba this year. One picture is me zip lining in Alaska last year, so beautiful. I so love the history that I experience when traveling. In Switzerland we went to the top of the Matterhorn, old castles and took a tram to the site where they filmed one of the James Bond movies. In France we went through the Mount Blanc tunnel and visited Montrouix (sp) and watched people hang gliding from cliffs. In Italy we visited ancient Roman Ruins. Mexico afforded me the opportunity to climb to the top of an Aztec pyramid and tour an ancient village that had been recovered. While in the Caribbean, I met so many wonderful people and saw so many beautiful sites. Cuba was interesting, the old cars were awesome, but they still exercise control over the citizens there. Imagine, they only get fresh water every other day! So, what have you been up to? I will be on this site and able to receive messages for 3 months. Having cancer is expensive! Otherwise you can contact me at winlynn at gmail I look forward to hearing what everyone has been up to!
