Lynn's Story

For those of you who are fb, go to" "Cleveland Stomping Grounds" to see our old neighborhood or contact me for the web address. PS: Cancer is gone and doing fine. 10 Jul 2015 diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL). Very non-aggressive with no symptoms and no disability yet. 21 Aug 2015, operated on for a port to receive IV therapy and for blood draws. Expect 9 months of tri-weekly therapy and then maintenance as blood dictates. We are treating this as a speed-bump on the highway of life. The D--m port surgery hurts every time I turn my head. Oh well. at 74 I feel I'm allowed to be a little cranky. My wife since 1966 (Sandy Santillo, Lo...Expand for more
ckport, NY) and I moved to FL in 2006 and are now both retired Special Ed teachers in a town called Crystal River. We are loving our new home and the new challenges of teaching. Don't miss the weather back home, but miss the many friends (but many have come to see us). In 2012, I embarked on a run in politics. I ran as a Democrat for the FL House of Representatives. The race got messy with a 3-way split and I was ask by my team to drop. AS of Aug I, 2014 I finally retired from teaching and have started an aqua-garden. I have tomatoes, peppers, lettuces and broccoli. along with many other plants in two grow beds. I have 21 fish, mostly Tilapia.

I have an 8# pork shoulder marinating in the fridge for two days. Will smoke with Hickory wood. Good olde Lexington BBQ pulled pork.
several weeks ago, our neighbor blessed us with a generous bunch of collards. WE cooked them with a smoked turkey leg and added some butter beans! Well..., we had leftovers from the freezer, and OMG; better than original.
After a very long dry spell of no trains, we took the auto train to see Sandy's family in eastern PA. While we enjoyed our time there, the trip was costly, uncomfortable and they have their work cut out compared to Europea

Look at those beauties from my neighbor. Here in the stores they generally sell for $1.69 per pound over $.69 for the Cavendish.
When are we going to get a re-opening plan for CC Schools? Will it include pre-testing EVERYBODY? Will it include regular temp checks? How about mandatory mask? I know as a former teacher, I would not go into a class ro
Are we really ready to open NY, Atlanta, Detroit...Etc.
The BEST mom ever.
We needed to replace our kitchen faucet. Called Roger, told us to go buy a replacement & came the next day to install it. Quick, efficient and NOT expensive. We bought the faucet at ACE, where I got my military discount.
