Lynn's Story
Where do I begin? Those of you who knew me in HS, know that I was wild as could be. I went through several years like that, then decided to go to nursing school, met a young doctor who would become my husband and married. We have 2 wonderful kids now 25 and 22. In 1997, my husband found out he had colon cancer that had spread to his liver. He lived another year and a half. Even before he was diagnosed, the Lord began pulling me back to Himself...I had given my heart to Him as a teenager (you would never know it), but had gotten so far away from Him...I had everything anyone could want, but was empty...when I looked in the mirror, I saw empty eyes and it scared me. Anyway, through it all the Lord lovingly brought me back.
When I was a young girl, I felt called to missions...I felt some big land mass east of the US, but, obviously when you get off course, you miss out. But God is so kind..

go, He provided an opportunity to go to Mozambique,Africa to visit a children's home run by Rolland and Heidi Baker. This year I stayed the summer in Pemba, Mozambique at a school for missions. Although compared to locals, we had wonderful living arrangements, compared to what we are used to here, they were poor. Most times we had cold water..it was rust colored from the red sand, but it was water. No heat or ac. Eight of us to a maybe 700 sq ft "house"..but we saw the Kingdom of God like most Westerners don't get to. And the truth is that many of the poor there are so much happier than we are here in America with everything we need...
I could go on forever, but that is not the reason I have decided to join classmates. First, it's a testimony to God's power to save someone like me...turn around my life. Second, I am hoping that if someone is without hope that you will be encouraged by what God can do.
