Lynn's Story
I'm a Mother of 2 and Grandmother of 3 in Northern California. I moved to Santa Rosa in 1988 and have worked as an insurance tech/adjuster for the last 25 years.
Have a horse, a dog, 3 cats, 2 birds and a fresh water aquarium. I've always had animals around and guess I always will.
Love watching my Grand Children's soccer games and other activities, and still have my passion for horses and Dressage. I'm also an avid photographer with animals and children as my favorite subjects, but any beautiful picture makes me happy.
Hawaii (my birthplace) is my favorite travel destination. Biographies and history are my favorite books to read and I love all kinds of music especially country. I also enjoy researching genealogy and have discovered many interesting relatives while learning lots of history and geography of the U.S. and Europe. It has proven to be a very fascinating and addictive hobby. So far, there are 5 Union Civil War Veterans, 17 Revolutionary War Veterans and 2 signers of the Mayflower Compact in my family tree. I recently discovered my fourth great-grandfather (he was white) fought for the first U.S. ...Expand for more
Colored Troops in the Union during the Civil War. His name is on the Memorial in Washington D.C.
My children went to Santa Rosa High School with it's colors orange and black, and it's mascot the "Panther"....go figure! Guess the Panthers are a family tradition since my Dad graduated from Orange High (Chapman University now) in 1949.
I remember Drill Team practice with the Band, parades, football games, dances and our yearly performance in the Gym. Kyleen did the choreography for our Pink Panther routine and is still dancing. Mrs. Lockhart (home economics) was so awesome to put up with all of the silliness in our kitchen and was the most patient teacher I ever had. Not sure what happened to Valerie Farrington, but we had a great time volunteering at the County Hospital and for the Red Cross. The drag races at El Toro, speed ice skating, and summers at the beach are fond memories too.
It's so amazing to realize how much time has passed since we were in High School. The memories are still vivid and seem like they all happened just yesterday. I know life has it's ups and downs, but hope it has treated all of you well.
