Anita Lynn's Story
I moved from Burbank in 1994 to a Northwest Chicago suburb to meet my biological father who passed away 3 years later. I decided to stay and got divorced in 1999. I have three children... Jon, Jeremy and Amy. I have four natural grandchildren plus three more that came with my oldest son's marriage. I am also a great grandmother of four. Sadly, my children are spread out from Burbank to Phoenix to Virginia Beach so I don't see them or my grandchildren very much. My oldest grandson just got married. My mind reels sometimes at the passage of time and how much has changed. The cycle of life goes on.
I met a wonderful man in 2005 and married him Feb 17, 2008. He has two grown sons and two grandchildren. He has 5 more years until retirement so unfortunately, it looks like we'll be in the Chicago area for a few more years. I am currently not working anymore as I have been placed on disability. The good thing about that is that I don't have to go out and drive in the winter snow storms. The bad thing is, it is lonely being home all day alone with no one to visit. sitive is I only have to wait 5 more years to have my husband home with me all day and we can actually go places together without any time constraints. Hopefully retirement will take us somewhere warmer but still have all four seasons. I don't mind a little bit of snow, just not as much as you get in Northern Illinois.
UPDATE:
2020 is around the corner and I am still in Illinois. Happily though, we found a house in Maricopa, AZ and bought it. We will move there by Nov 1st 2020. My son just got promoted and transferred from Delaware to Tempe AZ so he will live in the house until we can get there. Yay! That is all the updates for now.
UPDATE:
We are finally into 2021 thanks be to God. My husband finally retired and we moved into our house in Maricopa, AZ as of Oct 2020. My middle son moved out and found a home in Sun City, AZ which means I now have two of my three children living near me. My youngest one is still in Burbank, CA. I am finally content and looking forward to meeting new people and doing new things. 50th reunion is coming up and I am excited to be able to attend this time around. (I missed #40)..
