Life
Hey all. I'm living in Los Angeles, where I've been pretty much since the late 70's. I have a cute little spanish bungalow in the Atwater Village area. I've been here since 1987. It's a great little ecclectic neighborhood, filled with wonderful people. We're right by the Los Angeles river, and dirty as that may sound, it's actually natural bottom here, so we enjoy walking there and seeing the multiple species of wild birds take off in panic as my two dogs try to pretend they're trained bird-dogs!
Blue and Cassie (er... the dogs) are German Shepherds. Blue is now 7 and Cassie is 10. Blue and I run agility still, but not for competition. He's just getting too old to keep jumpin at competitive height. Cassie has really bad hips, but can still pull a 6 mile walk... and it's amazing how fast she can run when motivated (see aforementioned wild birds). I'm considering bringing a new puppy into the family sometime this fall - give Blue a run for his money.
Other than that, the "life" category is pretty quiet - I travel a bit - just got back from Asia a few weeks ago, and will be going to Alaska in September. Really looking forward to the Alaska trip (Asia is too hot for my liking,...Expand for more
but incredible food!)
College
I finally completed my BS in ebusiness in January of 2004. Nuff said - I'm so glad that is over.
Workplace
I suppose everyone already knows about the old career (klymaxx dot org). In January 2004, VH1 had a series called "Bands Reunited", where they went out and found old broken-up (as opposed to broken-down?) bands, and tried to get them back together for a gig. Well, we were one of those bands. They filmed us for several days, and it even got us together last summer to do a few gigs for the first time in many many years. It was fun, but I just don't ever want to do that for a living again. If you're interested, I've got DVD's of the show. Drop me a note with your contact information and I'll be happy to send you one. It was very weird to be dropped back into that "life" again.
Nowadays, I'm a computer systems geek. I manage a large install base of systems for a big mutual fund company. This allows me a bit of business travel, as we have offices around the globe. Our corporate home office is in downtown LA, so close to home. They treat me well, and pay is good - so no complaints. At least I never have to wonder about that next paycheck.
