Lynn's Story
I live in Lake Arrowhead, where I can enjoy the change of seasons, but still have access to live theater, concerts, fine dining, and, most importantly, remain in fairly close proximity to family and good friends. My spare time is spent quilting, and given the present time in my life, it seems all of my friends' kids are either getting married or having babies, so I have narrowed my focus to making treasured quilts in the hopes they might be handed down. Wedding quilts are pretty time intensive, so often I needlepoint wedding samplers instead which can be personalized for posterity, and are a bit easier to make under a time crunch. My three step-daughters are all happily married and scattered across the country: Corona, CA; Aurora, CO; and Fair Hope, AL. As a result, I have eight grandchildren, the oldest of whom is attending Harvard on a full ride where he has finished his Master's Program and is now working towards his PhD as a Divinity student. My oldest granddaughter had a baby in March of 2008 so Larry and I are officially Great-Grandparents. Since I was unable to have children, we were lucky enough to adopt our Jonathan as a newborn back in 1983, and he continues to live with us today. We really enjoy his company,...Expand for more
and, I guess we have made life so easy for him, he shows no real signs of moving out any time soon, and that's okay with us. I had to laugh at the questionnaire when it asked what kind of person were you in high school. I couldn't find an appropriate category like "Lost", or "Head Up" you know where. My vision was so small back then.
When I started college I began to work for Pacific Telephone, and spent 25 years there, ultimately retiring from AT&T as a result of the break-up of the Baby Bells. So I get a nice retirement from AT&T, subsidized by a Disability Pension from Social Security due to my Multiple Sclerosis. Do not feel sorry for me, because, thankfully, I have the Relapsing/Remitting kind, so I have good days, and bad days. I see it as God's way of letting me be a stay-at-home mother. This year Larry and I celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary, and I feel blessed to have waited until I was 30 before I married, because I found a Prince of a Man, and he treats me and the kids so well. What more could I ask for? Despite the trials and tribulations of being a teenager and feeling "Lost", I do have many fond memories of high school, so feel free to contact me. Blessings to all of you who wander unto this page!
