Lynn's Story
Life
After graduation I continued my education at San Diego State but dropped out shortly after getting married. Both were really dumb moves. (Obviously I divorced my first husband.)
Shortly thereafter I met my husband, Dave, at the San Diego State Newman Center. We've been married for over 34 years. (At least I got it right the second time.)
Dave and I have three children, Jennifer, Thomas, and Amy. Jennifer has given us five grandchilden with another on the way.
I was a stay-at-home mom while my children were growing up. When the oldest reached Middle School, I started going to Grossmont Community College in the evenings. I ended up earning two Associate Degrees. I've always regretted leaving college when I was younger and have tried to instill that in my kids. It's really hard to go back.

m a 35-year teaching career with Lakeside Union School District.
Dave taught Deann Ford, daughter of Kathleen MacDonald and Michael Ford. Both graduated from Kearny in 1970. Sadly, Michael recently passed away from cancer.
So how do Dave and I enjoy retirement? Well, so far, so good. We are associates with Pre-Paid Legal Services. We enjoy meeting people and showing them how inexpensive it is to obtain "Equal Justice under the Law".
We are also volunteers with "Big Animals for Little Kids". "Big Animals for Little Kids" is a group of people who dress in animal costumes and entertain at-risk, homeless, and sick children. We also paint their faces; take a picture of them with their favorite animal and make it into a button as a souvenir of our visit. We do annual events with Children's Hospital and the Make a Wish Foundation. We've been active in this group for about 7 years.
Take care and God bless!
