Update 11-19-18: My membership is up in a couple weeks and I won't be able to renew it. :( You can contact me at my website (above) or on my LynnKelleyAuthor YouTube channel:. I like to make videos using a green screen and other special effects, but iMovie doesn't always cooperate. When it works, I get up and do a happy dance.
As a Master Certified Health Coach, I'm continuing to study and am focusing on brain health and preventing dementia because my father has Alzheimer's. It is now an epidemic and will soon outpace heart disease, so I want to get the word out that there are solutions. For starters, read Dr. Dale Bredesen's b00k, "The End of Alzheimer's - The First Program to Prevent and Reverse Cognitive Decline."
The other area of health and wellness I'm studying about is epigenetics and methylation imbalances. This is cutting edge and will likely lead to advanced nutrient therapy as the preferred protocol for treating mental illness.
Presently, there are only a few doctors in the U.S. specializing in this field. A simple blood histamine test will reveal if a person is under or over methylated. If you or someone you know has anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, autism, ADHD, Alzheimer's, google Mensah Medical. Dr. Mensah has some great videos on YouTube explaining methylation disorders and also pyrrole disorder, which often go hand in hand.
You might also want to google Dr. William Walsh of the Walsh Institute. He's a pioneer in this field and is training doctors around the world to treat patients with the above-mentioned conditions. Australia is way ahead of the U.S. in this cutting edge treatment for various mental illnesses. Fascinating stuff. Treating with nutrients rather than pharmaceuticals (that can have terrible side effects) is safer and more desirable.
Update 8-27-18: In Sept. 2016 my husband George was diagnosed with lung cancer and had surgery. January 2016 he was diagnosed with brain cancer (metastasized from the lung cancer), so he had Gamma knife radiation, then chemotherapy. I asked people all over the world to pray for him. in September 2017, the oncologist told us the cancer was in remission. He's still in remission, a walking miracle! We're expecting a new grand baby, a boy, in November! Six grandchildren and still counting!
Update 7-24-16: We have five grandkids now! I'm studying to be a certified master health coach. I should be certified by September. Starting a new career at age 60, how crazy is that? I love what I'm learning and look forward to helping people make great progress in their health and wellness journeys. I will be coaching people one on one online via ZOOM. It's really cool.
2008: I just designed a website - lynnkelleyauthor.com Not an easy feat for someone that technology left in the dust long ago! In 1976, I married...Expand for more
George Kelley from FHS. I worked as a court reporter for 25 years. We have a son and three daughters. I'm still waiting for grandchildren. Three of my kids have met their soul mates. Bong! Bong! Bong! I hear wedding bells in our future. Hopefully, the grandkids won't keep us waiting too long before joining us in this crazy, wacky, wonderful world. I started writing children's books when I turned 40. It's been quite a journey and I can be as quirky, wild, or intense and shocking as I want! My husband and youngest daughter tell me I'm just like the mom in Malcom in the Middle. The nerve! There's never a dull moment in our lives.
12-4-09 So much has happened since that last posting. My son got married in April of '09. His wife is expecting in Feb. I'm thrilled that I'll be a grandma. Can't wait! My daughter April got married in June '09. Both weddings overwhelmed me with emotions. Both receptions were a blast! Life is good.
My daughter Amy will be getting engaged any day now. Shhhhh! Hope I get tons of grandchildren!
I co-wrote a children's book with two writer friends. We had the time of our lives writing it. It's the first in the fun, Monster Moon adventure series for kids ages 8 to 12. The ironic part is that I'm afraid of scary stories! Haha!
Now we're working on the second book. I'm also writing a story for teen girls called The Pink Bus. It's fictional but is based on my adventures taking the real Pink Bus from La Habra to Huntington Beach in the early '70s. Do any of you remember riding on the Pink Bus? If you do, can you let me know any details you remember about it? I think it was a dollar each way, but maybe it was only 50 cents? Any little details you remember will help me with my book.
Okay, this is getting really long, turning into another novel. I hope good things are happening in your lives. Of course, there's always BS to deal with no matter what. One thing I've learned in life is that joy and sorrow go hand in hand, but as we used to say back in our day, "Just keep on keepin' on."
Update March 2013: George and I have two grandkids, a girl and a boy. I'm caretaker for my toddler grandson and loving every exhausting minute of it. He's going to be a big brother beginning of June, so I'll be caretaker for him and his baby sister. My daughter-in-law is expecting a baby girl the end of May. Spending time with my family, especially the grandkids, is the highlight of my life.
All these grandchildren are a goldmine for a children's author. I've published a couple more books since that last update in '09 and have more in the works. If you'd like to visit my blog, my new site is at lynnkelleyauthor.com.
It's hard to believe our 40 year reunion is coming up next year. Where the heck did the decades go? Hope to see my old peeps from Class of '74 there! I hope life is treating you well.
Cheers to healthy and happy living!
