Lynn's Story
My Life:
My maiden name was Lynn Spotts and I went to school in Oberlin all the way through my junior year in High School. I didn't graduate with the class of 1968, but I feel like Oberlin Sr. High is my home school (I graduated from Lorain Admiral King). While at Oberlin High I was an office helper, I was in GAA and was a cheerleader (GO INDIANS!-AND I MEAN INDIANS). I now live in Columbus, Ohio and have been here since 1974. I was married for 25 years and have been divorced since 1995 but my last name is still Higginbotham. We raised two girls, Danielle and Celeste who are both now raising families themselves. Danielle, my oldest, now lives in Nashville, TN with her husband and 2 of their 5 kids, Celeste lives in Columbus, OH and has two daughters and two granddaughters. Epidemiology and Assistant to the Division Chair in the College of Public Health at The Ohio State University (GO BUCKS!!). I have worked at OSU since 1979 and hope to retire SOON. Two of my siblings still live in Oberlin, Sheila (Spotts) Ross, Roberta (Spotts) Garcia. My oldest sister Mona (Spotts) Eiland passed away 9 October, 2006, she lived in Lorain, OH at the time and my only brother Craig Andrew Spotts, who lived in Oberlin at the time, unexpectantly died from heart complications in February 2011.
It sure would be nice to hear from old classmates, particularly those who are in Columbus Ohio or those who are still in Oberlin (I visit often). If you remember Maxine Watson (now Rice), she is also here in Columbus and I see her from time to time. It would be great to catch up.
