Lynne's Story
Life
I grew up in Sugar Grove, IL, and attended Kaneland Schools for 16 years. While in high school, our family moved to St. Charles. After graduating from St. Charles High, I attended University of Illinois, was part of AFROTC, and started as an Engineering Physics major.
The college years were a roller-coaster ride of change, including changes of major (4), engagement and marriage (after junior year), transfer to Seattle Pacific University, 2 daughters born, and finally graduation with a BA in Philosophy.
After graduating (1993), we moved to Oklahoma City, where we spent 5 years and had another daughter. My dh went to Saudi Arabia for 18 months, and the kids and I returned to Chicago suburbs area, where our son was born. Although told our ...Expand for more
son had "0 %" chance of living, he is alive and thriving, and dealing with his challenges like a champ.
We went back to Oklahoma for 2 years, moved to Hampton, VA, for 2 years, then to Honolulu HI for 5 years, back to Hampton VA for 3 years, and now are back in Honolulu, HI for the last 4 years. I homeschooled our 3 daughters and am teaching our youngest, now a high school junior.

Air Force family so we moved often, now my husband is retired, working as a DOD civilian
visited Illinois 3-4 times/ year when living on the mainland
