Lynne's Story

My Life I hope they remembered me as a caring, and kind, listener. I moved to various places-First to Camp Pendleton where first child was born-then to Japan-where I spent 3 years and gave birth to 2 girls. My first spouse was in the military-in the medical field. I was lucky he didn't go to Nam-but it was close! I was in Japan when the cease fire was called, and there were a lot of vietnamese families thru there-it was interesting to hear their stories. After divorcing in Ca. I went to upstate N.Y. and spent 4 years in the Rochester area, then another 4 years in Avoca, NY. From there we all went to Mesa, AZ where all the jobs were! And have lived here for the last 22 years. During that time I divorced and remarried a few times. I think I am done for a while. I am moving soon to Utah, and from there I will hopefully end up in Ventura Ca in about a years time. Too much traveling, but you have to do what you have to do! My Children: I have six - Roger - 36, divorced with 4 girls, in AZ. Kathy aged 34, married with one boy in Mississippi. Christine age 32, married with two girls, one boy in Tucson. Nick age 25, married in Az 1 adopted boy, finished mechanic school, going to Iraq, Nathan age 23 married, just had a little boy, Laura age 21 not married yet. Would like to get in touch with other members of my class, and any others who knew me way back when. And that guy-in hs-who thought it was me in the van? was my sister!!!! And that hospital thing? Just ask Melody!!!! She will tell you!!! I always wanted to be a pianist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a wrong idea. As it turns out, they were idiots. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Craig Mills, because we were sweethearts. I love cats-they seem to love me. I have had to be midwife to the last at least 5 female cats. One nearly had her kittens on my lap as my dad was lecturing me about having a cat depend on me so much. I ended up on a 12 ft ladder trying to keep her from following me while giving birth to 6 kittens! I love ...Expand for more
to crochet-have made many doily's, afghans or blankets, knitted several too. My favorite sports on tv is ice skating-I can't wait for the winter olympics-for months they put the ice skating on-but I am most certainly glad they have changed the forum-as they were getting to be a pain! My biggest surprise in life was that I actually like to be alone. I have been for the last 4 years, and it has been really hard. My family likes to bring up when I am going to bring home 'the next one'. I found I was marrying for all the wrong reasons, so there was the best reason of all-I am tired of being abused by the people I thought I loved. I kept telling all my children as they were growing up that they are genuises. They have proved me over and over that I was right. they may have done stupid things-but I told them I still loved them, and darn if they don't just love me back! My current age is 55. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be in their golden years, doing whatever they wanted to do, and having a wonderful time. I was so completely wrong!. My best friend would tell you I'm very out going and friendly, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as snotty, and think I am too good for them . I have found that the clothes I wear, I do for comfort-I also found I like empire waisted dresses, and the 'princess cut' style-so I guess I like the same style, not the same colors! I share my home with my 21 yr old daughter, which I find to be too much. She needs to be in her own space with people her age. Much as she loves me, I don't want her to sit around with me!. How my oldest friend and I met. I was 7 1/2. She was 8. we were in a goup of a whole lot of other children that day, in a large courtyard, and someone suggested I go find her and say hello to her. So, I did. She said I was the only girl that didn't act like she would be one more trophy friend on my chain of life. We started to talk about our class and teacher. We then decided that we liked each other and have been best friends ever since.
