Lynne's Story
After graduation from Oak Ridge, I attended Orlando Junior College for two years. I then met my now "ex" husband, married and we both worked at Martin Marietta. We moved to Ft. Lee, New Jersey (right across the bridge from New York City) and eventually returned to Orlando. We had two sons and divorced in 1976. I returned to college and graduated from Florida Southern College with a BSBA and then from UCF with a Masters degree in Education. I worked for Orange County Schools for 35 years, teaching at Colonial HS and Edgewater HS, along with several years at the district office. I ended up in postsecondary education as a teacher and school administrator at Mid Florida Tech, Westside Tech and retired from Orlando Tech as the Senior Director (aka school principal).

consumed all my time. I retired from OCPS in 2010 and now work at Seminole State College as a program developer. This job is great - no major responsibilities for students, teachers, curriculum or the facilities so it's all good. I found that retirement just doesn't work for me!
After my parents passed away I ended up keeping the house in Lake Conway Estates that they built in 1963 - and I even have the same phone number that they had for more than 50 years. Only the area code changed! There are still a few neighbors whom I've known for more than 53 years. I have two grandchildren - one son has a daughter who is now 13 and the other son has a son who is 8.
I can't believe 50 years has flown by since we graduated and I'm sure everyone else feels the same. I'm looking forward to the reunion and hope many of our classmates attend!
