Lynne's Story
Life
I've been a family law attorney for 32
years and still live in Santa Clara
County. I went to the University of
Santa Clara undergraduate and law school
and taught there part-time for three
years. I am a certified specialist in
family law and work as a judge pro
tempore and court-appointed expert.
Separated now after thirty five years with one son
(21) who lives with me. Still acting (isn't that
what courtrooms are about). The baton is
long gone.
Suprise about me - chasing bears in Canada with a camera because I wanted the picture.
Teachers I'd like to see again, Bill Meyers who taught me to think for myself, Vince Briare who helped me get every scholarship known to humankind so I could go to college, Bob Arce for teaching me "Estas son la mananitas' - great song for drunken nights in Cabo San Lucas...I know there are others.
Wildest thing in school - got kicked off the basketball team for making out with someone under the bleachers or going steady with five guys at once.
First crush - found out he was dating my best friend to so I dumped him (and her).
Old friends memory of mine - smart and hopefully kind...Expand for more
.
Happiness is traveling in Cabo San Lucas with friends or snorkeling in Hawaii or shopping in Paris or Venice or Florence
Biggest surprise - it's a toss-up, being an attorney or being diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis in my 50's (I was adopted so no clue about what was coming). It's been a challenge.
Weirdest job - modeling for an album cover in high school, freezing my rear end off in a swimsuit in a cold stream in the foothills.
I've lived mostly in Santa Clara (until I married at twenty two), then moved to Monterey/Pacific Grove since that is where my husband had a job, back to Santa Clara for law school, then to San Jose where we bought our first house. I'm on house #3 in San Jose.
My do over - nothing. I have had a great life. I have a great son, a wonderful yellow labrador retriever Buttercup - ok, she may be 80 lbs now but she was a cute little puppy once, two cats (Kit - my Buddha kitty) and Sofia (aka Little Bit), a blue Burmese. I read every chance I get (no change from high school) and now have the craft room I have always wanted. I really enjoy practicing law and have no plans to retire. I have a lot more living to do!
