Lynne's Story
Life
I met and married my husband in college and we'll celebrate our 42nd anniversary August 18th, 2004. We have one daughter, Julie, who lives in Salem also.
We both spent our careers in education - I as a Career Services Specialist and my husband, Larry, as a math-science teacher. Larry retired in 1996 and I retired in 1998. We've spent our retirement years traveling, both in the United States and overseas. As a matter of fact, we were in Turkey when the war in Iraq started. me safe and sound. We spent three weeks in Florida in February and a week in New York City in May. Our next big trip will be New England in October for 10 days and then Matzalan next January for two weeks with three other couples. As you can see, we're not letting any grass grow under our feet.
When we're not traveling I spend my time reading, walking, playing bridge, and going on outings with friends. I also do some volunteering at the local Senior Center and at my church.
Life has been good to me and I feel truly blessed and look forward to many years of retirement fun.
