Lynnette's Story
I have lived in Salem, Oregon since 1985. I was first married to Tom Esselstrom. We divorced in 1993. I remarried and had two daughters with my second husband who was not a very nice person to me. It was an abusive marriage. I divorced that one in 2005. I vowed never to marry again. Then I met Dan, my absolute angel of a man who treats me like a Queen.I am currently married for the third time (third time's a charm) and have two daughters, Morgan age 12 and Clara age 10. I currently work for the State of Oregon but I am in the process of starting my own business. I have been through a lot since graduating in 1976. I did a lot of drugs and partied alot after high school that basically ruined a large portion of my life when I should have been in art school getting an art degree. I quit that lifestyle after 8 years, got clean and I worked in the cosmetic business for 10 years at several high scale stores in Salem and Portland, then took 10 years off to raise my kids. I became a born again Christian in 2004. That was the best thing I could have ever done. My life improved 100%. I currently work for the State of Oregon, do volunteering for community service projects, coach girls softball and stay pretty busy with my new husband that I married in May of 2008. im and I like to go wine tasting at the valley wineries, watch old comedies from the 70' and 80's, listen to classic rock and jazz music and sit by the fire in the mornings drinking our coffee. We keep busy raising three kids. I still paint and draw and my oldest daughter is following in the footsteps of her mother in art. She's better than me when I was her age :) There are several people that I run into on occassion from CC living here in Salem. It's startling when someone recognizes me or I recognize them. I never had an interest in class reunions because high school wasn't the best experience for me, although I was on the tennis team for 4 years and I loved that. But kids made fun of me because I was chubby so I got teased a lot, especially from boys. I was called every fat name in the book. You stupid boys. I hope those boys that called me names grew up to have big bellies, hair loss, glasses and capped teeth. Now look at me! I look pretty hot for a gal that's 50!!!! I miss the house my parents had in Gasquet. I wish my folks could have kept that as a family retreat. Our family was very popular in the summer...I wonder why?? Let's see...CC fogged in daily,cold and drizzly and then there was Gasquet in the 90's...mmmm, yeah we were was popular.
