More about ML:"Feelings so Deep, Poetry by M.L. Brooks a self published book is my first attempt of sharing my deepest thoughts with the world. Being able to share my passion with others is an amazing feeling. It can be at times overwhelming. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than being able to express myself on paper. I feel blessed to share with you, the reader all my thoughts, hopes, desires and wildest imagination.
As a child I was very shy and introverted. I often would fantasize and wish that I was somewhere else. I had little to no friends. My best friend was my pen and paper. I started writing my diary at 9 years old. As a teenager I wrote poems and songs. Writing was my main comfort. It allowed me to explore another world of understanding. It helped me to see how others viewed what was happening to them.
I further developed the love of writing in high school. Upon graduating high school, I attended Sacred Heart University and studied psychology. I later attended Housationic Com...Expand for more
munity College where I explored my writing ability even further. I believe one should always continue your education. The more you learn, the more you know. Go to a workshop, a seminar, a book study group, a school or watch a documentary of some sort. Knowledge is limitless.
I have attended schools in many different fields. I have also held many different job titles. I believe the more education you receive, the more diverse you become. This allows you the ability to adapt in any environment and in any given situation.
I enjoy writing; poetry, music, children's stories and novels. Music is one of my many passions. I was in a church choir for a while and sang as a soloist on occassion. Although, I do not sing in public anymore, I still enjoy writing new songs and singing them. I am hopeful I will have a future in music. Writing songs breathes new life into my creative world. My poetry and music will always be connected.
I currently live in the lovely state of Connecticut. I treasure the times spent with friends and family. I enjoy the world and my surroundings. I think about the future of the world and I worry to see whatwill happen next. How are we protecting mother earth? I have poems in Feelings So Deep that talk about my reflection on the world.
I am now working on a new book. I am inspired by Maya Angelou and Shell Silverstein. I don't want to be considered just a poet. I write many different things. I am working on a children's book. I hope to have a new book released in 2011.".
