Cynthia's Story
Life
I have fond memories of our 20-year class reunion, particularly how terrific it was to see so many of you again! I was here on leave from the Air Force for the reunion. I left the AF after 7 years to start a new career. My father passed away in 1991 at the age of 72. My mother still lives here and is a raving dynamo at 84! My life is filled beyond my wildest dreams with God's blessings.I was hired as a Vo/Tech Instructor at ConCorde Careers and taught many subjects there for 3 years, was promoted to Dean of Academics and sat on the Board of Directors for the next 4, then a medical condition from my military days forced my resignation from that position to supervise evening classes and resume teaching for another 4 years. During 1996, ConCorde began to change. I decided that a quiet position at one of our government facilities might be a good choice for me. Back to college to obtain a second degree in Tech Writing/Editing through Metro. I attended for 2 years part-time while working, but in the summer of 1997 life 'as usual'came to an abrupt halt....Expand for more
For two years my physicians at the VAMC searched for an answer to debilitating symptoms that suddenly ensued that summer. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as well as 4 other not-so-fun maladies. I'm now totally disabled and have been since that time. Even though I haven't improved during these years there's still a good chance that I will, and something else quite wonderful has happened in the meantime. I've come into a new walk with Christ and my whole life has changed! I'll bet no one from school knew that I was a Christian then, or even 20 years later, but you'll see a very different girl behind my face today! Trust, obedience, and submission are my goals. I live one day at a time while God works to make me the 'new creature' He promised now that I'm letting Him. I know joy that I never knew existed. God is so good!
I'd be most happy to hear from anyone who cares to write :-) Expect a novelette in return! I didn't choose my e-mail name for nothing, ya know! Be well my friends with all things according to God's will - I pray for you all xxoo
