Mabry's Story
Linda and I have now been married more than 52 years and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. We both were born in Jax (9 days apart in St Vincent's) and graduated from AJHS and The Florida State University. Linda majored in Elementary Music and taught both elementary music and K-5 (for 35 years) before retirement 1 year after being named HDS's Teacher of the Year. I earned my CPA certificate in 1971 and was a Computer Audit Specialist and Intern-Manager at what is now KPMG and PWC. d to the private sector as VP-Finance and CFO of numerous real estate development and homebuilding entities. I am the sole recipient of the FICPA's 2017-2018 Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry. After 50 years in Finance and Accounting, I retired just before the March 2020 Covid lockdown. I'm a former President of the NEFMA and have enjoyed catch offshore billfish since I was 8. Except for our 4 years in Tallahassee and my FANG offsite training, I have resided in NE Florida. We now reside in St. Johns County, moving there from Jacksonville's Southside over 18 years ago.
