Madeline's Story
I went to Loara High during it's very first two years. I played the violin in the orchestra and the Bell Lyre in the marching band. Unfortunately my mother moved me to Belmont Shores the summer before my Senior year and I had to graduate from Wilson High in Long Beach with total strangers. (I had gone to Loara Elementary and Trident and Brookhurst Jr High schools in Anaheim with the same kids for 8 years before that), Anyway, I got married to Guy Kinney and had 2 children, divorced and eventually moved to Oregon where I met my current husband of 36 years. He moved us back to Mission Viejo, California for 5 years, then Boston for 5, San Francisco for 6 and finally back to the Northwest where we've lived at Brown's Point for 16 years. I love the "Emerald City" - Seattle - and Washington State is beautiful but I will always be a California girl at heart. I have missed being invited to Loara's reunions because of not graduating from there. So that's why you haven't seen me. I am ordering the year book so I can see all of your faces again! Hope you'...Expand for more
ve all had good lives. I have loved living in different parts of our country - it's been a great experience.
I worked at Apropos dress shop at Town & Country in Orange California in my early 20s and then at a Design Center for Kaufman & Broad Home Building Co. I took some classes on interior design at Fullerton Jr College but I've been lucky enough to get to be a stay-at-home-mom and be the "Homemaker Extraordinaire". I love to decorate, do gourmet cooking, do needlework, go shopping, take cooking classes, go to Afternoon Tea with friends and play my violin once in awhile, etc. My husband has a Phd in Math and is a brainiac who was a Professor for awhile and then went into the Computing field. He has expanded my world and mind with all of his "Chaos & String theories and Fuzzy logic and other things that I don't totally comprehend. I've had a interesting life these 68 years!
I have 2 granddaughters in Portland Oregon who are 19 and 24 now and a 15 year old grandson in the LA area.
Glad to find lost and old friends on Classmates!
