Maggie's Story
Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who has moved west. We have lived in Fremont NE now for 17 years. We have a big old house (built in 1873) that we have been restoring; I don't think it will ever be done, but we love it! Before we landed here we lived in Wyandotte, Kalamazoo and Littleton CO.
We have four great kids - Ian-26, Drew-24, Emily-20, and Abby-18, and one beautiful granddaughter who just turned 1.
Ian works at the local grocery store here and has accomplished so much more than we ever dreamed possible. He was born with a rare syndrome and is mentally and physically handicapped and has been through a lot in his life. media. He and his fiance have a beautiful daughter Adaline. Emily is in her third year at The Kansas City Art Institute majoring in printmaking and just got engaged. Abby is a freshman at Midland Lutheran College right here in Fremont. She is on the women's soccer team and plans on majoring in chemistry and going on to pharmacy school.
I have been a letter carrier since 1976 and can't wait to retire! Ken has had quite a few different occupations; the latest being a coffee roaster and wholesaler, but had to give it up because of back problems. He's had seven back surgeries in the last six years. Sometimes I think I should have become a nurse! I've had plenty of experience with him and Ian and all their surgeries!
