Julie's Story
Life
After leaving the Philippines ,
( a MAJOR part of my life)
and all my wonderful friendships ......My Dad was transferred to Maryland so......off we went. Maryland was SUCH an important part of my life and teen-age years. I made lifelong friends, as I had in the P.I.
After leaving MD. we moved to Oxnard,California.
I graduated from Channel Islands High School.
Missed all my friends from Md.and P.I.
Felt like a lost soul for a long time.
Got involved with the school choir and then into a hula group outside of school .
Performed on our local t.v station a few times.
My hula instructor was also a voice and acting coach and I got into weekly sessions with that.
Acting wasn't really my thing but..... the singing WAS.
I met my husband, Dave, who, at the time was a ...Expand for more
Jet mechanic in the Marine Corps.
Fell in love , married and had 4
terrific children. Three boys and a girl. David (24), Mark (21),
Michael (12), and Katie (11).
My husband, Dave, is an Air Traffic Controller and we live in Hawaii on the island of Oahu.
We have been married for 25 years now.
I am still VERY much into music and singing and still dance hula and do performances in Waikiki monthly.
I am an Active member of the LDS Church and take part in our Ward Choir and a local singing group we have put together called,
Na Mele Pu'uwai".
(means music from the heart).
We perform for different Church events AND community events as well.
I am hoping to hear from friends and re-connect.
