Malbina's Story

Life Hey...darn we graduated over 45yrs ago!!! Can you believe it? lol I really don't feel up there in age...really. I feel that this is one of the best times of my life...single for 11yrs now, independent, outgoing. Sorry, can't find any of my "then" pic from high school. Do you still have your yearbook? lol Don't even want to go there...I was very quiet and not outgoing as I am today. In time you do learn a lot!! This is Malbina (sounds soooo filipino) from Kunia, coming to YOU live in this screen! My gosh, the technology now days huh?!? Cells,IPODS,computers!! So cool though! Pretty soon we'll be driving our car up in space! I have 6 brothers, NO sister. We all were into music, played instruments. My youngest brother became a musician for over 30 yrs! He's my brother, but if I was to judge his talent as an outsider...he is good! Plays Sax, Keyboard, Lead Guitar, Rhythm, Vocals. It should have been ME! In my next life my name will be, Melveen Leed Jr.! In lights! YES! Well, Delmonte has finally shut down. So sad... my mom is now in Heaven (since 2009).... She used to STILL talk about going back home to the KUNIA plantation! She's with Papa now, who passed in 2000. Can you imagine we won't ever be seeing them again, hugging them again, until that day arrives when we will be together again. Twenty (20) minutes before my dad left us, his eyes were closed. Dr stated that his oxygen has maxed out...with my mom crying beside his hospital bed....he opened his eyes like he had just woked up! He said 'why you crying, no one died' and he went on to say 'talk about good times, not bad times'. Then he closed his eyes and 20 minutes later he left us. This is how I see it.....they don't die....their soul lives on. I'm thankful that he left us this message before he passed. It made it easier for me to cope with his and Mama's passing. Well, I've been through 3 marriages in this life ....and don't plan on going there anymore...!! Been there, done that! I don't regret my marriages...I lea...Expand for more
rn from it. I'm dating, but no commitments. In first marriage, we went to live in Michigan for about 2 years back in the 70's. My daughter was born up there. It's okay to visit, but no place like HOME! I missed the Filipino foods! I have only one daughter... and 3 grandkids. Ages 18, 20, 24yrs old and they're pretty cool kids! I guess I'm cool with them...so they're cool with me...you know, got to get down to their level at times so they can relate to you!! I love those kids.. Oh, I'm a GREAT GRANDMA...ggrandaughter is now 16 mos old..... our patience is not as swift as it was YESTERYEAR! Sigh! But I'm hanging in there.....love her to pieces! Right now I'm taking care of ggranddaughter until she gets into preschool. Planning on having her registered in preschool 2014. So I'm chilling until then...but would like to go back to work part time. .I just can't see staying home 24/7! But we've been working for a long time and its time to cruise a little, enjoy life and be happy! My greatest accomplishment was when I was voted "employee of the year" at a Resort I was employed at....but that Resort now has shut down for renovations. I loved working there....that acknowledgement was an awesome "pat on my back"! Shucks...no...no free Vegas trip! I love to dance, listen to live bands....so I do go out to the club sometimes with some friends. My goal in life is just to be "happy". We're not getting any younger you know!! We're getting UP there! I live alone (grandkids visit weekly) in Kapolei, and have a wonderful life right now as a BACHELORETTE! lol Me settlling down?!? I will someday...waiting for that KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR! If he doesn't show up in this life.....I can wait till the NEXT LIFE! No rush! lol Hope to run into some of my old classmates in here...just to say "hi"! Throwing some hugs and kisses your way!! Caught it? Aloha and take care....and have a wonderful life!! A hui hou!! P.S. Oh...don't call me Malbina anymore....call me MEL now. Toooo filipino-ish!! haha
