Malehia's Story
Life
I have lived all my life in East Dublin/Laurens County area. I am happily married to Carneage Young. We will celebrate our 20th Anniversary in April, 2008. I have two childrens - a daughter and a son. Both have graduated from Georgia Southern University. My son has a four year degree from GSU and and two year technical degree from Ogechee Tech. My daughter will graduate in December with her Master's Degree. My husband and I am are very involved with our church in Warner Robins. He is a musician and I work with the media ministry. Even though I technically didn't graduate with the Class of 1976, I spent 11 years of my life with you. I still cherish the memories that we had and recall them often to my kids. If I could do that part all over again, I would. I miss you all and would love to hear from you.
School
There was no big secrect as to who my crush was. I wore his football number and printed it on everything. I remember him well. I haven't seen him but one time since graduation. I was at a funeral of a mutual friend and didn't realize that he was there until I had gotten into my car and was driving away. I looked up and he was standing there waving to me.....those high school feelings came rushing back for just a moment. He had a wonderful smile.
I think that the teacher that...Expand for more
inspired me the most was Miss Annie Williams. She always saw the good in a person no matter the circustances or situation. She was always willing to go the extra mile for you.
If I could do high school all over again and know what I know now. Yes, I would. I would make every memory last instead of wishing for the next one to come. I would remember every face, every word spoken and laugh allot!
I don't know that there is just one funny, happiest, craziest memory that I have of school. I just wish I could remember them all. I was a part of a group that stuck together through thick and thin. Always supporting one another. I think that they were some of the best people that ever lived. I always looked forward to the comradery while changing classes and catching a glimpse of that special someone. I also enjoyed the Fall Festivals and the Homecoming dance. I also have wonderful memories of my first "Sock Hop". I think I was in the 7th grade. That was fun.
I do wish for the same feeling that I had the fist time that we ran the football team onto the field, my first pep ralley, our first touchdown and our first win. If I could go back and do that all over again, yes, in a heart beat. My mind still says I can jump up and do a spread eagle and fall into a split, but my body says "absolutely not"!
