Shannon's Story
Life
After high school, I earned a BA in English from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, and then returned to Provo to look for work. That led to two years of teaching freshman English at Utah Valley State College, and another couple of years trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up before I finally left Utah again and moved to Washington, D.C. and could see the U.S. Capitol from my office). I spent seven years in D.C. managing the writing staff of a grassroots political consulting firm, then returned to Utah again to reconnect with my family. I now work as a freelance communications consultant; thanks to the wonders of modern technology, I can live in Salem, Utah, and work for clients in places like Washington, D.C., New York, and L.A. I haven't married yet, but life has been good to me so far.
