Manuel's Story
Life
I went off to the Navy right after Graduation. I got to see so many places. Got to meet so many people. Tried to climb the Great Pyramids in Egypt..gaurds kept catching me and telling me to get off. That was fun. Of news, I can say that I proudly served with two of the Pilots that were involved with the Events of 9-11. The pilot of the plane that crashed into WTC 2 and the one that crashed into the Pentagon. I never would have thought I would see them "land" one last time. I was an electrician on the carrier Saratoga. Another Navy experience...I don't know how many people remember Alex Apodaca, he was Alfred's brother. I met him in a chow line on the carrier Independence. I was on that one too. Can you imagine that? Meeting someone from high school in a chow line out in the middle of the Atlantic Oean. Came back, tried my hand at college...didn't work out. So I am now working to keep your lights on. I am an Electrician for Reliant Energy. I have been there for over 23 years....who'd-a-thunk it. I am currently separated... Have 2 children...Mickey, who is 11 and Amber who is 5. I got a real late start in the family department. My son lives with me and my daughter lives with her mother. After nearly 23 years , I have moved back to the neighborhood. I guess you can come home.
Well, this is an update to my Profile. I am no longer working for Reliant Energy..in all their infinate wisdom...the Department I worked for was sold to another buyer. After being with them for less than a year, that company in its GREAT wisdom...I'll never understand the Business mind,,,Decided to offer me Early Retirement...So I took it...my Momma didn't ra...Expand for more
ise a Fool. So, now I can enjoy some well deserved time off. Not to worry, I won't be out long...planning on getting back to work when I get bored with doing nothing. Really, that won't take too long. So , if you're in the neighborhood, drop on by. Chances are...I'm home.
UPDATE#2
I went back to work. I tried a couple of temp jobs, that didn't last. One was building Wnidmills in Colorado. Wind power to make electricity...who'd a thunk it? After I left that job I hired on working for the City of Houston at Bush Intercontinental Airport. Been there for just over a year now. NO...I don't get FREE airfares. I get asked that alot. Job is good, I am on Shift...rotate from week to week. Could this be my NEXT retirement? Me? Retire twice in a life....LOLOLOL. Life goes around in circles...I worked on the Flight Deck keep the lights on for the Pilots to land and here I am again....almost 30 years later, doing the same thing. Who says you can't go HOME....lolol
A question on here to talk about things....Guess Classmates wants you to talk about things ...maybe how you may have changed or not.....
Still dress like you did 10 (or 20) years ago? Talk style.
Do jeans and t-shirts ever go out of style?
Got trophies on your mantel? Share a big victory.

My current age is 53. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be slow, old and cranky. I was so completely RIGHT...LOLOL.
What happened to your first crush?
She married someone else. Isn't that how it ALWAYS goes?
