Marby's Story
That's a funny lead-in question!... "Who are you really...?" That could've been written by either of my two favorite college Profs ~ Dick Bouchard and Irv Rhodes ~ back in the day when we all were really diggin' into our heads and hearts and tryin' to find out for ourselves and explain to the world just who we really are! That's an ongoing process, I think ("therefore I am" !). . .it's what keeps us vital and engaged and grounded in this world.
"Oh! She's a Philosopher!", you might say. Well, yes. That and a myriad other shining facets I try to beam 'out there'. . . writer/poet, sometime-painter, singer, naturalist, EarthMotherHippie (still and forever!), teacher, learner, empath, stargazer, dreamer, camper, paddler, hiker, friend . . . .
Consciously deciding to Age with Grace ~ I'm the Girl who stopped coloring her hair the day my Daddy died in my arms...because one of the last things he said to me was, "I love your hair, Sweetie...don't HIDE your roots...maybe you should get back to your 'roots'...it looks like Angel hair to me." With that comes great responsibility...and a share of lonesomeness...because sometimes someone wonders just what planet ~ or star! ~ I came here from. I try to remind those fellow 'travelers' that we are ALL stardust ~ (remember the song by Crosby, Stills and Nash [and Young?] ) ~ we ALL 'come here' through and with the Power of Miracles. We come here to learn, to teach, to CONNECT. . . . and to see each other through until we return again to the stardust we're made of.
I hope the tail of the comet that bears your name is bright and long...shining for all to see by...and that you, too, are a Bringer of Light. Aha! I'm reminded of another old favorite song we all know and sang as children..."This Little Light of Mine"...right!? I STILL SING IT! Let me hear your Voice in your own singing. . . .
Happy Trails,
Marby Rufsvold [ aka Marty Rufsvold ]
(To Those who knew me in Baumholder, Germany and Montgomery, Alabama [Floyd Middle School] ~ ~ ~ when I was "Marty" for a little while [because Donnie always teased me and called me "Marblehead"...which he still does, and I love and cherish evermore now, coming from him!] ~ ~ ~ I hope you find me out here.)
