Marc's Story
I have been a Circuit Judge in Orlando Fl. for 12 years having been reelected in 2012 . The first 6 years I was on the felony criminal bench and then did Domestic Violence cases for 15 months. I am now back on the Criminal Felony bench and will be for the next 1 and a half years and then retire. I practiced law for 32 years in Orlando after graduating from the Univ. of Fl.. and the Univ. of Mississippi. law school, doing mainly criminal defense cases. My wife and I live in Winter Park Fl. with our 2 dogs and 2 cats. We also own a horse ranch east of Orlando where we had 9 horses. We have traveled all over Europe, many times, Russia and Central America as well as the Islands of the south Atlantic and are now seeing a lot of the United States. n't wait to retire!!. I retire Dec. 21 ,2018. Counting down the weeks. It is now 5 weeks before I finally retire . Next year my wife and I are spending a month in Italy having rented a house on the Southern coast of Italy and looking out over the Mediterranean.. After 44 years as a Lawyer and Judge I will finally be retired. It is now 2 days until I retire on the 21st of Dec. Then I will be teaching at a law school this summer. Officially retired 12/31. Now on to new adventures. Have been retired for 3 years but still go back to court as a senior judge. I sat on the bench for about 28 days last year in criminal divisions, Finally get to take a vacation and am going across the ocean on a transatlantic ship and the spending a week in Spain. Can't wait. Still teaching at local law school. So much for retirement.
