Marc's Story

Life What can I say.....I'm married 16 years and have a daughter 13 years old. We moved to Florida in 2000 basically because we were tired of paying rent and wanted to own a home. School Ok let's all have a good laugh...It's high school right.....Let's see. High school was a big change for me. 1st ...I really liked Karen Kaminski. She liked me in Bleeker 185 and we went out I think. At that time I really couldn't care less about girls etc...Of course you don't know what you have until it's gone...so I kept the crush a secret all through high school because I was too shy to bother saying anytihng. Then I developed a soft spot for Dina Siskind. I would never let her know back then or say a word about it, but I liked her so much, it was the only reason I joined SING for the Sophmore year. (hahaha) I liked Dina so much that 3 years later at the senior prom...Dina got my vote for prom queen. Never told anyone that until now. It's funny if I ever saw either of them passing in the hallway between classes I would get that weak knees feeling. Oh well. OK..had some people ask me what happened in High School I was there and then gone. In a nutshell about midway through 10th grade I started hanging with the wrong crowd and cutting all the time. Not cool. Then the dean had me signing these notes everyday so that they ...Expand for more
would know where I am. That didn't work either. I was just very discouraged with school and I could have opened up to a lot of you but I chose not to. Basically because it was embarrasing. So there was 1 choice left. We had a little program in our school called CO-OP education. It allows you to work 1 week and go to schhol the next week. For me, this was a gold mine. I only had to go to school every other week and I earned a paycheck when I was not there. I mean I was making $200-225 a week and was still in school. It was a cool feeling. Nobody my age had that kind of money. So for 11th and 12th grade..that's what I did and where I was. I actually worked at the World Trade Center on the 91st floor. It was very cool. Looking back I regret it a bit because we had such a good bunch of people that all came over from Bleeker 185 and you all stayed together. That's the part I missed out on. But you know it was all ok. If you look the photo albumn I posted of the Senior Trip everybody was all smiles for every pic I took even though most of the people hadn't seen me in 2 years. That's what made it all ok. College After that paragragh about High School ......no i did not go to College. I went Straight to work and got into the Travel Industry. I was A manager for Liberty Travel at the early stages of my career.
