Bernd's Story
Life
I spent 20 years in the US Navy in worldwide service and retired from active duty in January 1985. I was married to an Italian divorcee with two children and had three of my own. Divorced in 1980, I remarried in 1983 to a young lady from New Orleans and we had a daughter in 1985. I've worked for four major manufacturing plants as a maintenance supervisor/manager from New Orleans to Holland, Michigan. Recently we moved to the Houston, Texas area where I hope to be able to enjoy a warm retirement. My goals for the future include working closely with my church in serving missionaries around the world building churches and supporting Christ's great commission to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. For all who read this know that it is never too late to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The missionary Jim Elliot once said, "He is no fool who gives up that which he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." es, riches, delicious foods, power and fame said this: "Vanity, vanity, all is vanity." Whatever it is that you've pursued since graduating in 1964, it is of little value in the final roll call if you do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Friend, receive Him today before it is too late. When you do, you will understand true satisfaction. Then, you will never sing the Rolling Stones' song, "Can't Get No Satisfaction" because you will know the Creator of the universe who is My Everything. He alone satisfies; He alone fills the human heart with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Do it today - receive Him. It's very simple: Confess that you are a sinner, repent of your sin (means turn away from your sin), and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart as Savior and Lord. Then tell someone about your decision. Seek fellowship with other believers so that your faith will grow and so that you can worship the Savior together. My friend, you will never, no never, regret your decision. It is life-changing and lasts for eternity.
