Marcia's Story

I was the petite, blonde girl voted shyest in my class. Now I can't shut up--I'm a Realtor, as my father was. Really an extrovert. Can you believe it? I love to sell houses. Took me a long time to decide on professions. Studied International Relations at UC Davis--was going into the foreign service. A marriage & son ended that dream. But it was worth it! We moved to New York, where I found myself writing a newsletter on psychiatric experiments & trials at State Hospitals for the late Mario Cuomo. Got to travel to New York City fom Albany, NY, the state capital, & had an office in the World Trade Center. A move to Topeka changed all that. My son Michael, now 34, loved the city. l live here. He moved back to California to become an urban planner. I found myself taking communication courses, got a Masters in Journalism & worked for a PBS TV station, all the while remodeling investment properties. I managed properties so I could stay home more with Mike, my son. Then I became a Realtor & have been one for 20 years. I still buy & remodel homes. (Homes are so inexpensive here!). Not planning on retirement soon..,Have to be active! (Whoever wrote my first profile didn't know me at all). Can't say I really liked Albany High School... I was one of those nerds that studied a lot. I'm surprised anyone remembers me! Didn't go to the proms or was a cheerleader. Too shy!
