Marcia's Story
Hello,
My family moved from Allen Park to Charlevoix, MI in 1967. I graduated from there and quickly got pregnant and married (in that order). We were divorced three years later. I met and married my husband of 34 years in 1978. We had two sons together and I had one daughter from my first marriage. My daughter lives in Charlevoix, MI and works at North Central Michigan College as the payroll clerk. My oldest son, Ryan, has his PhD in Physics from Michigan State and currently works in the nanotechnology field as a scientist at RHK Technologies in Troy, MI We now have three grandchildren. and I both taught school for many years. My husband's family started the first fudge store on Mackinac Island in 1887 (Murdick's Fudge). After I retired from teaching first grade, we started our own Murdick's fudge shop in Mackinaw City and named it after our youngest son, Aaron, who now makes fudge for us in our store. We make candy and fudge every day now for a living. It is fun! Stop by and say hi sometime. I am not sure I remember too many people from our class. Mary Rinna and I recently reconnected on Facebook.
