Marcia Kern:  

Life I am enjoying retirement after nearly 40 years as both a high school English, ESL, and AVID Teacher. For the last six years, I was out of the classroom, coordinating the English Learner and AVID programs at San Marcos High School, and I did the same job while helping to open the new high school in San Marcos, Mission Hills High School. After full-time retirement, I worked for the County Office of Education in two programs and for Cal State San Marcos training new teachers. I had a wonderful career and am happy to be looking ahead. My husband, Marty Stern, and I celebrated our 46th Wedding Anniversary on June 11th. My husband retired as a Worker's Compensation Specialist Attorney, and now he does projects around the house and drives for LYFT. Our son, Seth, is 39 and was the Key Accounts Vice President for Toms Shoes. He recently took a job at Vans. He is marrying the lovely Heather Gass in December, 2018.
