Marcia's Story
Aug. 2016 I am now in my 10 year of being retired from teaching! I taught my last 15 years at Broken Arrow South Intermediate as a Sophomore English teacher. My Children all graduated from BA Brandon class of 96, Sara class of 98, and Barrett class of 2001. The boys joined the services in 2000 after Brandon graduated from OSU. Brandon became a corpsman then was educated to be a blood lab man who spent most of his service at the hospital at Great Lakes Naval station. Barrett became a combat medic with deployments to Iraq including being there on the first day of fighting. Sara is an LPN who is now going for her RN. She is a home health nurse in NE Oklahoma. on and Shannon have two small sons, Sara and Kris have two teenage daughters, and Barrett and PJ have two daughters and a baby boy. I started the BA chapter of Blue Star Mothers when the Iraqi War began and was extremely active with it for almost 12 years. It was quite a ride, and I will always be grateful for all I experienced with it. I worked part time when I first retired, but now am busy with grandchildren, church work and Dale, my husband and best friend. We have traveled and discovered so much! We hope to do even more in a year or two after he retires. Yes, we have been scarred with sickness and loss of loved ones. We still love God and thank him for all he has given us in this life.
