Marcus's Story

Life After I graduated from AHS, I went to West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia (my dad's alma mater) and received a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering in 1991. Since Army ROTC paid for my tuition, I owed the Army four years and ended up reporting for duty in Fort Knox, KY. I was only there for a couple of months when I was stationed in Fort Benning, GA in Columbus. From May 1991 until June 1992 while I went through a series of schools for the Infantry. I spent most of my time while on active duty stationed in Fort Carson, CO in Colorado Springs and really enjoyed it. While I was stationed in Fort Carson I was deployed to Saudi Arabia for a peace-keeping mission in Riyadh. I really enjoyed my time in the military - much more than I ever thought I would and met some lifelong friends there - but decided to call it quits after 4 years and went overseas to get my MBA. I lived in Rotterdam, the Netherlands from 1995 until 1997 getting my MBA at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. My intent was ...Expand for more
to leverage a European MBA and spend more time in Europe, but while I was over there I realized that I really enjoyed Colorado and so after I graduated I moved to Denver where I worked as an IT consultant for Perot Systems. Although I lived in Denver I was constantly traveling, which is how I met my ex-wife, Tracy. We met in Minneapolis and she lived in Dallas. We were fortunate enough to move to Sydney, Australia for 6 months after which we were married in Dallas in April of 2000. That's where I currently live, in a small town north of Dallas. Our first son, Michael was born in March of 2001 and Luke was born in April of 2004. Currently, I work selling software solutions for a company that I helped found called Entessa. It's both exhilarating and agonizing at times but after 4 years I can't see doing anything else. Recently I decided that I wanted to get back in touch with all of the friends I made over the years and have had a great time reconnecting. Please feel free to drop me an email as I'd love to hear from you.
