Marcus's Story
It's ya boy DJ Marcus( Legendary Black Saturday DJ) I've been putting it down in the Bay for a long time. Let me give you some history about me, and where I been. I started DJing back in 1986 at Emery High School in the 9th grade, that same year for Christmas my mother brought me my first DJ mixer, and the rest is history. My first club gig was in (1995) J-Love's in Alameda, Ca. It was the hottest 18&up club in the Bay Area. We did shows with Master Ace, Luniz, C-BO, Dru Down, San Quinn, JT Tha Bigga Figga, Tha Fast One, Seff Tha Gaffla, The Bums. We had Franzen from KMEL 18th birthday party there also. SHOUT OUT to Double Barrel Darrell,and DJ T. In 1996 we started the BLACK SATURDAY MOVEMENT, and we moved to Club Faces in East Oakland on fruitvale. The promoters was G-Spot, Sin of the Funkmode, Kool L, DJ Marcus and DJ T. in that same year, we were the first promoters to bring Death Row's Dogg Pound to the Eastmont Mall Pavillion. New Years Eve, we did a show with Foxy Brown & B-Legit,(It was Foxy Brown's first Bay Area appearance) in San Jose. That night was so OFF THE HOOK!!!! 4000 People in attendance. In 1997 we moved to the Candle Light Club in Richmond, Ca, we did shows with Master P.(before he blew up) Rappin 4-Tay, San Quinn, C-BO, The Certified Ryders(Mike & Don P.) Marvelous. We had people from, Richmond, Vallejo, Oakland, Sacramento, and San Francisco, and we never had any major drama there. That was unheard of in the Bay Area. In late 1998 the BLACK SATURDAY MOVEMENT began, we did parties all over the Bay Area, name the city, 9 times out of 10 we were there. I also DJ for Family Entertainment(Shout Out to Fooney & Dez, 223) I do Hubb & Too Short's Birthday Parties every year.( Shout Out to Big Hubb & the E.16th Boyz & Short Dogg) I will never forget the b-day party in Vegas......I'm at Geoffrey's Inner Circle every Saturday, playing all the hits you love.
