Marcy's Story
Life
Worked for years as a graphic designer. Graduated Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1978 (Bach. Science Technical Careers: Creative Expression in Media. (art, design, advertising, journalism, business). The biggest surprise of life so far is how fast time flies!
Worked at major ad agency in Chicago in '79. Later moved to Nashville, TN (Music City) in 1979 to get more design experience. Culture shock! Worked as Graphic Designer for years; freelancing, publishing houses, ad agencies. Met my husband Mark Onan '85 (from Minn.) Married 1987...20+ years! ve two great kids:Christopher (18) and Angela (10). Chris graduates High School and is going to college in UT/Chattanooga in the Fall. Both kids have been training in piano and are very good pianists. I still play piano and dabble in songwriting. Wrote a song which was published in 1989. Hope to start painting again soon. Sub taught grade school, worked part time at Edward Jones Investments. Currently homeschooling my 10 year old (5th grade). Still travel back to Prospect Hts. to see my family often but I don't miss the weather. My Parents and 5 other siblings are doing well. I'm trying to stay well, fit (at YMCA) and active in these older years. The kids keep us young. Always busy!
