MAGGIE!
Hi again : now that I have given this reunion some thought it truly will be a special occasion for me anyway. Once you grow older and wiser you need reunions to remind you of good and bad memories in your life. I just turned fiftynine in July so now I can truly say I feel like a twenty year old person at heart but my body does not aways agree with me.(:I hope to see some of the class of 65" who I was suppose to graduate with, probably your sisters and bros. See you soon Margaret Bain!
School
My biggest crush was Mr. Amaya, I know he did not know and I am glad. When I was a child I thought as a child!:)
My most inspiration teacher was Florene Du Fresne, she did not teach at Shumway or Fort Vancouver but she was my young life teacher. Mrs.DuFresne was a pillar the Vancouver community. She taught every thing good and was a very good Christian women.
Her family had some kind of ownership of the Evergreen Funeral Home.
Her daughter Ann Katherine DuFresne-Beach and I still keep in contact and they have a plack in Eastershort Park In her moms name.
I would do it over again, this time I would like to get to know all of you, the world has turned and now you...Expand for more
can get to know the real me and not judge me by the color of my skin. That kept us from really knowing each other.
I would have been that track star and that Cheerleader I wanted to be. Life is too short to dance with ugly people! remember that!
I do not blame you for what the world was teaching us at that time. Now we can make sure that your children and mine respect all people! That they love God first and learn to love and respect all people. There are some people who are harmful to us all, we all have to teach our children and grandchildren how to recognize them.
Right now the only funny time I can think of is when I was in acappella and the teacher embarrassed his self, we all started holding our noses and he confessed, but said it wasn't all his fart, but he was meaning to say fault, because we were talking about somthing entirely different!
My happiest memories are of talent show's, when Tarlene Davis, myself , Dorothy Stephens sang and the Crazy Eights sang. Trappadero club dances, my junior prome, when I came to the prome with Gary Nelson (who is white) in 1966! the Dad's Club band stop playing when we walked into the room,( wish I had a picture of that, priceless:) not a big thing now but 1966 we made History.
Gayla Greenwood, my best friend, I will never forget her! Our families were friends. I did everything with her we were insepperable, the only reason I was not with her the day the Lord took her was my parents could not afford the trip. Gayla was not affraid to be my friend and she was afriend indeed! God rest her soul.
