Margaret C.'s Story

Life Hi Friends, and past classmates. A lot has happened in the past 35 years; Everything from college, then marriage, to divorce after 28 yrs. followed by a new marriage (exactly two years ago Feb.14) and a move to Iowa. My life's not been dull. I showed dogs for fifteen years and had my own business as a professional dog groomer. Now, I am back in college at The University of Iowa. I'm a part time student in the Arts. I am an artist. Life is good. I hope yours is too. Drop a line or two. Updated, it's now September of 2015. My husband and I left Iowa to live in Las Vegas for about two years. Living the...Expand for more
re is nothing like visiting the city. It really is a neat place to live. We moved back to Iowa for about another two years. Finally, my present location, is like nowhere else I've lived. We have a small retirement home on the Sea of Cortez, a lovely place to live even if it gets quite hot in the summer. Having the beach to myself, makes it worth it! If you like small town life and loved the 1960's, you would like it here. Oh... you need to like Mexican Food too. There's a considerable community of Gringos who are all ready and able to help new comers to the scene. I have not had a dull life. :-) M.C.Rohner

Now imagine these flowers as a blanket covering huge patches of ground.
Hey you all, every evening as the sun sets, I get to see this awesome shadow from my strange cactus plant. I have no idea the name or origin of it. This is only one shape it takes. Some are squat. I chose to see what happen
Nanna has become a dear friend of Tina's. She would like to live here but she belongs next door. She gets such a forlorn look when Tina comes in and she can't.
My poinsettia from last Christmas loves where I planted it. The kitty is Ambar. She has moved in here, adopted me.

#drop_your_beautiful_dog_challenge This dog was Paddy, one of my pups. I never got to show him at breed, but he deserved to win. He did show agility.
So...how many other ladies out there have been growing their hair out since last February? Mine was quite short. Now I have a problem with it breaking off. Guess I'm missing those sweet hormones I used to have.
Cleaning a storage room does have it's perks. I found some Boston Window art that I created about 20 years ago. Still perfect except a few tiny shrinkages that I touched up with acrylic paint. This was made using a photo un
So...after posting the other photo way back when I was still a young sprout of 65, I thought I'd post one of me that is much more indicative of daily life. Me at 66!
Tomorrow is my 66 birthday, so I thought it time to update my picture. Hubby got this super new tablet for me (my old one was about 10 yrs. old). The camera is great, the subject is ? Older than the old tablet...LOL. Look
Here's a progress report... Lulu is slowly coming to life. Still have work to do on the ears, face, and total body. About another week and she'll be finished. Whew! think I need to retire. LOL
Finally finished... here's Lulu.
I've found that the camera tends to brighten all the gray hairs I used to accent her body shape. In reality, with natural light, you don't see them this sharply and the blue is much deeper
Here's Tina! This is a photo I snapped of our girl that I am going to turn into a portrait in oils. She's hard to catch with her mouth shut.
Here's Miss Tina! Tina is a Mexican Stray dog that came to my door about four years ago... hard to believe it has been that long. She's probably Golden Retriever, mixed with some kind of herding dog, pit bull, and Lord only
