Margaret's Story

I always wanted to be a great mom when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a wonderful idea. As it turns out, they were right!. I enjoy in my spare time, reading, sewing, gardering, quilting, spending time with my family! My Dad has always been my hero & I just recently lost him. He packed up a wife & 5 young children & took them from the only life they knew & brought them here to the US & gave us a new life that included a whole new family! All of us Brittish kids were friends in one way or another, at different times & in different places in our lives & we all found a substitute Aunt or Uncle in the grownups. It was very difficult at times but it all worked out in the long run. My Dad fought hard to give us all a good education & a better chance at a good life than what he thought he had to give us if we had stayed in Scotland. I love & miss him very much. When I first married I lived in Greenwood, but after having 2 baby boys in quick succession & a step-daughter every-other-weekend we had to find a house. realtor took us to see a house in Greenfield, which we thought would be W.of Greenfield & a great place to be closer to my family. Ended up East of Greenfield & we loved it & are still there now. My boys just moved out in this last year & really hate the feeling of the "empty nest". But we see ea.other as much as possible. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my brother Alex, because he was stollen away from us 7 yrs.ago this Dec.30 by a drunk driver & I feel robbed of not being able to tell him one more time how much I loved him & to say goodbye.. I became a UK Basketball "freak" in 1992 watching the all-time crazy Christian Latner shot that led them to victory over UK going into final 4.My Josh was 7 y.o. laying on the living room floor beating his fists & yelling that is just not possible! My biggest surprise as an adult is how very hard it is to be an adult & to deal with death & losing someone you love so much. We have lost 3 of Glenn's brothers & both parents over the years, but when it comes from your own blood it really cuts!
