Margaret's Story

Life After I graduated from Odessa High School, I attended Odessa College for one year. Then, I took off to Lubbock and spent three years at Tech. I graduated in 1970 and that is also the year that I met my husband. He was stationed at Big Spring, Texas. We married in December, 1970 and left for Plattsburgh, New York shortly after the first of the year. We were stationed in Plattsburgh for four years. We had our first daughter there and after that time, moved to St. Louis, Missouri and lived for a year. Our second daughter was born in St. Louis. We moved from Missouri to Saginaw, Michigan, where my husband became an air traffic controller. From Michigan, we went to Cleveland, Ohio for several years. After the air traffic controller strike, we stayed in the area for about a year and then moved to Texas where my husband became an American Airline employee. I began work...Expand for more
ing as a learning disability tutor while in Ohio. I continued working when we moved to Texas. I have been employed by the White Settlement ISD for about 20 years as a special education teacher. I teach the work program class/ and several Resource English classes. I have officially retire as of 6/12/2008 and am starting a quilt business. I make baby quilts and all sizes of quilts for custom orders. One of my daughters lives in London, England, where she works in the finance field. That is her home. Our second daughter is an architect in Seattle, Washington. She will be relocating to San Francisco in thenear future to open a branch of her company. My interests are in quilting, reading and doing triathlons, short runs and bicycling. I ride a Honda Shadow Spirit 1100cc motorcycle and am planning to trip on it to Nova Scotia in June, 2004. My dad now lives in Cisco, Texas.
