Margaret's Story

How do you hope old friends remember you? As wild and crazy, but also a great friend who really cares:) I always wanted to be a beautician when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. How do you blow off steam? Describe your favorite way to relax. Watching TV, making jewelry, surfing on the computer or listening to music. What's the wildest thing you ever did in school? For me, skipping:)LOL! I don't work, I'm disabled now for almost 15 years. Do you have a hero? Talk about where your inspiration comes from. Yes, Sylvia Browne. I just think she is a great person and reading her books or watching her on tv helps me deal with my everyday life of being disabled and not being able to do things I used to do. Where have you lived? Why did you move? I now live in Lynchburg off of Timberlake Rd. I lived in Amherst Co. most of my life until Nov. 2005 when my husband & I decided to move into a great apartment complex. Sports. Reality TV. Pets. Share your obsessions. I like Football,Watching Nascar Racing on T.V., LOVE CAMPING!! Love my 3 cats dearly! Since my kids are grown, my cats are like my babies and keep me lots of company since I am unable to work! Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? The biggest surprise of my life has been developing a very painful and debilitating neurological disease from a TWISTED ANKLE that happened on my job when working at CVTC at the age of 30! At the time I was diagnosed (18 months after it began) it was called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome, now it's better known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. It's a monster disease that affects the nervous system, bones, blood vessels, joints, can cause osteoperosis (SP?) causes most who have it to also develope Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain is the #1 sign/symptom. Very bad burning pain along...Expand for more
with all different types of pain. Can come from the slightest injury, although some have it that don't know what it developed from. Parent? Share what you've learned from your kids. A lot of political info from my son Shawn. If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to Charity & The RSDS Assoc. of America, , then spend the rest on Amber, Shawn, Marcy and the rest for me & Dwain to travel the U.S & Canada. To be truly happy, you would be where, doing what, with whom? Other than living with RSDS & Fibromyalgia everyday, I am already truly happy and very thankful that God gives me each & everyday to be here on this earth living with my wonderful husband Dwain that I've been with for almost 31 years! As long as I am with him, I don't care where it's at, I'm happy:) I am also happy when I am with my children Amber & Shawn and my kitty's too;) My current age is 45. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be VERY OLD. I was so completely WRONG. I share my home with Dwain, Amber & my kitties, which I find loving but crammed. Got trophies on your mantel? Share a big victory. No trophies, but I do enjoy making jewelry and my kitties are trophies to me:) You get one do-over. What do you do differently? Go back to 1994 and be more careful & not to twist my ankle so I wouldn't have developed this very painful monster disease!! In 10 years, I hope to be cured of or better treated for this disease. I'm going to get there by hoping & praying that some cure or at least a treatment to take more of the pain away comes along! What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? That I am now disabled! My first job was baby sitting, where I got paid very little to watch kids. What I remember most about it is it was very hard work! . Share a childhood memory you'll never forget. Meeting my husband Dwain:) Best part of my life!!and having my kids!
