Margaret's Story
Life
Hi classmates! I'm married and have three girls (Kelsi 19; Maddie 10; Payton 8) and a dog - a very large & hairy dog - and live in Edwardsville. After working in politics and state government for 10 + years, I decided I was done with that craziness! Kelsi is now a sophmore in college, and I recently turned 40! Good God.... where did the time go. I remember when my dad was 35 and I was thinking... man, he is old! (no surgeries or enhancements yet, but not ruling them out!!!!)Looking forward to chatting with old friends and seeing some pics!
School
Looking back at my class of '87, several fond (or strange) memories come to mind. Such as watching Corey Hughes sleep in study hall (he did it so well!); being a part of the subconscious challenge among girls to wear the tightest pair of jeans (how comfortable were we!!); being in Mr. Pine's Business Law class ~ you gotta love that guy; being forced to listen to Neil Diamond in Mrs. (Betty) Brown's English class ~ loved her and I now have a fondness for Neil; Mrs. Washburn's art class and watching a...Expand for more
classmate (who will remain nameless!) smoke "something" out of the back window; one could never forget the infamous incident that occurred in the hallway between classes outside of Mr. Pine's room, when the contents of a particular classmate's pocket scattered all over the hallway in the midst of a short-lived fist fight. All of us remember those 30 +/- little white "cigarette-looking" items. The entire west end of the hallway was down on hands & knees grabbing whatever they could, even Mr. Pine was down!!; and I'm sure all of you remember freshman year '83 & the big all-student walkout. This was the first year the campus was closed and we weren't going to take it! I was really looking foward to walking to Al's Drive-In for lunch and hanging out with all the "cool" upperclassmen! Principal Stout was SO mad (I was frightened!). There was talk of suspension, but I can't remember the final outcome ~ must not have been too harsh! ~ Anyway, I hope some of you will share a couple of your memories, even if you think only a handful of people may "get it"!
