Margaret Lerom:
CLASS OF 1959
Bay Ridge High SchoolClass of 1959

Margaret's Story
We had 2 graduating classes in 1959, January and June. I was in the smaller January class. The best memory of high school was playing trumpet in the orchestra for Spring and Winter festivals. Other good memories besides having friends were math and Spanish classes. I still have a copy of the Maroon & White from 1959.
One dream of mine was to live where grass grew right up to the house. Here in Iowa, we have lots of grass all around and I am learning to garden: flowers, vegetables, and herbs. The garden attracts all kinds of birds and animals so photography has become a hobby. I married a scientist/pilot and we celebrated our 47th anniversary. We have a daughter and 2 grandsons.

me great adventures. These include owning and sailing a small sailboat, taking sailplane and single engine flying lessons, backpacking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, scaling a 10,000+ foot mountain peak and signing the register, as well as visiting 39 of our 50 states, and Washington DC. Other trips included Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas, Grand Cayman Island, Japan, Korea, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
Although most everyone else in the class has retired by now, I am still working with a food safety lab and enjoying it. Will probably be there for another year or two.
I look forward to hearing from other members of the class and finding out what you've been up to. All the best!.
