Margaret's Story
Moved to Florida in 1966 with my family. Stayed there 10 months and moved back to Connecticut in 1967. Married a Navy chief in March of 1968 but that didn't work out so well. Moved back to Florida with my family for about a year and then moved back to Connecticut where I lived in Taftville for a few years. Met my husband in January of 1974 while vacationing in Florida and we married in November of 1974. He was from Nashua New Hampshire and that is where I moved to. My husband is a club golf professional and for 9 years we wintered in Florida and spent the rest of the time in New Hampshire. Nice life! Living like the rich while we were still poor. In 2000 my husband landed the job of head professional at Nashua Country Club where he had been the assistant for 17 years. Life got a whole lot better!! On August 31, 1976 I gave birth to my only child, a son. He just got married on August 1, 2009. The nicest day of this entire summer. He is an assistant principle at Manchester High School in Manchester, New Hampshire. We still reside in Nashua and it is a wonderful place to live. I have been working at ...Expand for more
Rockingham Park race track for 25 years as a mutuel clerk. In addition I have my own bookkeeping and tax service business that I run out of my home. Life has been very good to me and I am very happily married for almost 35 years.
I love to travel and in the year 2000 went to Europe for 27 days and visited 10 countries. Fabulous trip. In 2006 went to Ireland for 2 weeks and did the entire circumference of the island. Another fabulous trip. In August of 2008 took a 23 day safari trip to Africa and that was the best trip of all. Had the time of my life and met some of the nicest people on the planet. My next endeavor will be a 30 day trip to Australia & New Zealand in February of 2010.
I love to play golf even though I am not very good at it. It keeps me busy, gets me to exercise and most importantly, keeps me out of trouble. Well, maybe not! We still go to Florida for a couple of months in the winter and have a lovely condo in Delray Beach. When we retire someday we hope to spend 6 months between NH and Florida. Of course I am now looking forward to becoming a grandmother so I can spoil my grand kids!
