Margaret's Story
hello to the class that said: never trust anyone over 30! Been quite a few years now for all of us! My path lead me to the piney flatwoods in the middke of orange groves and farm land, for a while. A different way of life to be sure than DFW area. Had a great adventure in life. Married a great guy for over 30 years, he passed away. We had a son(died), but then a set of girl twins, later in life. They proved to be a overwhelming happiness. I learned how to hunt, fish, drove tractors, pruned and grow our citrus trees. I still live on our big place with ponds, barns, plenty of critters over the years. Chickens, hogs, cows, cats and dogs and even rabbits. Course we have wild hogs and gators that pass through once in a while. Not a place for the fainthearted, but good memories. I remarried at age 60 and my daughters finished school-Gator U.F. blessed all these years. Now and then I think of how my classmates turned out and did they find happiness and dreams come true. HOPE SO>2023 Now I see many classmates names in memory. Some I knew at Richland and Trinity. Getting older guess we take it in stride now, but sad. I remember in the prime of life. I returned to visit after my brother passed in 2016. Wow! All those open fields, with Spring Bluebonnets I use to walk are gone. My Dad passed and his 40 years of mechanic station off Pipeline long gone. So my future holds a move soon off my beloved farm. I still have a gator on my drive road and deer I see early morning. Lost my second husband he is with his Vietnam era buddies again at Military Park.. I’ll be in one of the cities to enjoy my children , grandchildren. Hope to visit Washington DC again and Charleston one day. We don’t do Disney,,, Natural Springs or the beach is fun. Stay active, enjoy your love one! Texas BBQ still the best.
