Margaret's Story
Life
After high school I went one semester of college and then got married the first time we moved to LA for 3 years, then we moved to Trona, and then back to Ridgecrest where we lived until 1980 when my husband and I moved to Alabama with our two daughters.
In 1985 I divorced my husband and in 1986 moved back to California with my two daughters. I married the second time in 1989. I have five grandsons. Sheila (my oldest daughter) has 3 boys, and Becky has 2 boy.
My work experience is mostly with the government I started working for the base in 1979. While in Alabama I worked for the VA Hospital, this was a real eye opener as to what our Veterans go through. Upon returning to Ca I went back to work for the Navy at China Lake and returned to school. I am currently working in Computer Network Security for the base and hope to retire in about 10 years or less, it all depends, cause I really do enjoy my job....Expand for more
I completed my Bachelor in 1986 from CSUB, then went to UCLA and got my Professional Government Contract Certificate in 1987, then graduated with my Master's in 1998 from CSUB. It took me 30 years after graduating from high school to get my Master's but I don't believe you are ever too old to continue your education. After completing my Master's I started teaching part time for Cerro Coso and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. I am still teaching Accounting 1 and 2 for CCCC online. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge with students. I find it very fulfilling.
My interests are spending time with my family, spoiling my grandsons, and taking walks with my dogs Maggie and Rufus.
I am looking forward to getting to know some of my past classmates and talking about the good old time and finding out what others are doing since high school.
I wish everyone the best. Remember never give up on your dreams.
