Maria's Story
Life
Married Jesse Scarbrough, 1974 graduate, in June 1975, and moved to the Florida panhandle with the Coast Guard. We lived in Long Beach, CA for a year in 1978 while Jesse was on an ice breaker. We then got stationed in Key West, FL where Rainy was born in 1980. I started a graphic design career in 1981. Divorced from Jesse in 1982. Lived in the south FL triangle between Key West, Fort Lauderdale and Port Charlotte from 1984 to 2005. Travels include Europe in 1996, Oceanography Reunion in the Bluff in 1997, Highlands, NC in 1998 and 2002, some island hopping in the Caribbean, New Mexico in 2000, 2006 and 2007, and Colorado in 2004. Daughter Rainy graduated in Key West, FL in 1998, went to college for a year in Gainesville, FL then moved back home with me in Plantation, then onto Virginia Beach where she met her husband, Neil. They had a baby boy 7/7/06, my first grandson, Kalen. My second grandson, Roan was born 1/4/08. I married in 1984 to Mark Goodale and again in 1991,to David Edmondson, widowed by the later in 1996. I married Dave Nugent in April 2003, my partner of over 12 years, friend of over 22 years. Workplace
I have over 24 years experience in the graphic design field, having started out with newspaper work all the way to hi-tech MacIntosh operation and design. Worked for Certified Vacations, a travel tour operator from 1999 - 2005 as Senior Graphic Designer, catering to Delta and Continental airlines, as well as an in-house brand, Future Vacations. Designed and produced advertising and brochures as well as various marketing print collateral for all the brands. During 2004 I re-designed the Continental Airlines Vacations brochure look and did some work designing for Song, a Delta branch airline. I redesigned the Delta Vacations brochure look in 2005. Also traced and maintained an extensive job archive and image library for all destinations Certified Vacations features. I left Certified Vacations in July '05 and moved to the northeast Georgia mountains where we completed a dream of owning a bed and breakfast. Check us out at hensoncoveplace dot com.
