Maria's Story
I left Springfield shortly after I graduated, hopped on a plane and went to Missouri, where I had the pleasure of going through "boot camp." I spent about 14 years in the Army, fighting a battle called "good ole boys network." I never left Missouri and was already wound-up and prepared for battle. I was married, and yes you guessed it, divorced. I do have two lovely children, Jessica and Dominic. The joy of my life and in some cases the headaches as well, but love them dearly and wouldn't change a thing, wait did I just say that? They bring joy into my life every single day.
I traveled the world trying to find out what I wanted to do when I grew up and yes ladies and gentlemen, I did. I am professional with a large company in a career field that is very rewarding. I am in a leadership role and work with a wond...Expand for more
erful team. I finally put the V in front of the P, and if I need to spell this out, are you sure you graduated in 1981. Times have changed from an educational perspective and I value everything I learned with all of you and during our time at Tech, "Go Tigers." Oh by the way, does anyone remember one of our teachers using, "my foot up State Street?" It's been a long journey and it was nice seeing some familiar names on the board as well as faces.
I have been MIA when it comes to the reunions and will be the first to admit it. It's been difficult while living out of the country and traveling, but I have no excuses. I look forward to hearing from the gang of 1981, "Another One Bites the Dust," school song in case the "old timers disease" is starting to settle in. Look forward to hearing from my "peeps" of 1981.
